There’s something special about seeing creativity happen in real time.
Recently, we welcomed a group of influencers and interior designers into our studio for a very special create your own wallpaper workshop, an opportunity to step behind the scenes at Curate Space and experience the handcrafted process behind our designs.
From demonstrating our floral painting techniques to opening up our archive of vintage books, prints and reference material, this wallpaper workshop was designed to give guests a genuine insight into how our wallpapers are created entirely in-house, from scratch.
At Curate Space, handcrafted design is at the centre of everything we do.
Before a wallpaper becomes a repeat pattern or a finished collection, it starts life as painted artwork, sketched motifs and carefully developed compositions. During the wallpaper workshop, guests were invited to see this process up close, watching as we demonstrated some of our signature floral painting techniques and explained how traditional methods continue to shape our collections today.
After the demonstrations, it was time for everyone to get creative themselves.
One of the most enjoyable parts of the wallpaper workshop was seeing guests experiment with painting techniques, pattern composition and colour in their own way. The studio quickly filled with ideas, conversation and creativity as everyone began developing their own wallpaper-inspired artwork.
The workshop wasn’t about creating something perfect. It was about exploration, creativity and appreciating the artistry behind handcrafted wallpaper design.
Alongside the creative sessions, guests were also invited to explore our studio space and the archive that inspires so much of our work.
Thanks to our connection with Canvas Print Studio, we have access to an extensive collection of original prints, vintage references and inspirational material that continually informs our creative process. Antique books, historic patterns, collected textures and archival artwork all play a role in shaping the wallpapers we create.
More than anything, our wallpaper workshop was a celebration of slowing down and reconnecting with creativity. In a world dominated by fast trends and digital imagery, there’s something meaningful about working by hand – painting, layering texture and allowing ideas to evolve naturally over time.
We loved opening our studio doors, sharing our process and spending time with such a creative group of people. Thank you to everyone who joined us and brought so much energy, curiosity and creativity to our create your own wallpaper workshop.
